The event was hosted at La Petite Mort, a beautifully clean and contemporary space in the CBD. The atmosphere of the Poetry celebrate women event was relaxed and comfortable, I immediately felt at home. It must have been the beautiful decor, vanilla scented candles and flowers. La Petite Mort is owned by André and Morné, who makes every effort to serve local, seasonal and ethically source food. The food they served us was fresh and absolutely delicious! My favourite dishes and drinks was the french pressed coffee (of course), freshly baked croissants and citrus-marinated salmon, adding citrus elevated the flavour of the salmon. All the food was served in Poetry crockery and glassware.
Freshly squeezed orange juice and french pressed coffee.

After breakfast, the gracious Jackie Burger gave a short presentation of what its like to be a women in 2016. Jackie emphasized that women are precious and amazing. She encouraged us to be authentic and find our own fashion sense. Then she proceeded by previewing Poetry’s new collection. Jackie Burger emphasized that all women can experiment with fashion, inspite of our different shapes, sizes and ages. Women of all ages can wear a leather jacket, she explained, its how you style it. She encouraged us to play around with the clothing and accessories from Poetry and feel the texture. It is important to choose items that suit your body type, she added and try to get the most value out of a fashion item. I learnt so much by listening to her, she is iconic and a leader in her field.
I especially loved that Poetry took time to thank their customers with a beautiful morning, celebrating women and allowing us to network. There are many brands that can follow their example and learn from them. I certainly appreciate brands like Poetry, who go the extra mile and give back to their customers. Poetry has always been one of my favourite brands and now I am even more obsessed with them. The new Poetry arrivals are listed on their website. And may I add, I LOVE the new Poetry collection. Its feminine, sophisticated and elegant.
