I realised that I may have half of The Body Shop in my cupboard, when I started sorting out my beauty and body products this week. Its no secret, I love The Body Shop. My favourite store is the Cavendish Square branch, the sales assistants are always friendly, helpful and knowledgeable on all the products. I had so much fun creating this blog post as it features some of my favourite products from The Body Shop.
Shimmer Waves can used all over your body and on your face for subtle or dramatic glow. This is my favourite beauty product from The Body Shop. They add a touch of sparkle to your face and body and can be used individually or swept together for a beautiful glow. I use mine to contour and highlight my face, I also use it as a eye-shadow palette. The lighter shades can be used for highlighting and the darker shades for contouring. I think its worth it for R270, as you are getting 5 colours in one palette. I appreciate the coordinated colours, so you don’t have to figure out how to use them. LOVE my Shimmer Waves palette in bronze.
A must have for all women! These shade adjusting drops helps to turn your foundation into the perfect shade. During Summer, my skin tends to go one shade darker. The darkening drops are a life saver. All you need is one drop, dropped into your liquid foundation and magic occurs… your foundation is 1/2 shade darker. The darkening drops works better on dark to deep skin tones. I have not used the lightening drops before, as it was created for light to medium skin tones. If you need to lighten your liquid foundation, add one drop and the foundation is lightened by 1/2 shade. The shade adjusting drops retail for R300 (each).
The Honey Bronze Highlighting Dome is proof that dynamite comes in small packages. This highlighting dome has a creamy texture and is easy to apply (Seriously, you cannot mess it up). I love all the shades but my favourite are shades pink and bronze. Apply the pink highlighting dome onto the apples of your cheeks for a pop of colour. You can use a makeup blending sponge or your fingertips to blend the product. It retails for R195.
My favourite hand and nail cream in Summer from The Body Shop! (Summer hand cream is a thing right?) The almond hand and nail cream is perfectly light for summer. I love the light texture, as my hands don’t need that much moisture in Summer. I only use it once or twice during the day, even after washing my hands on numerous occasions, it helps to keep my hands and nails looking healthy. The scent is subtle and smells like sweet almond oil. You may find me smelling my hands at random times (ha!). It helps to prevent those nasty dry cuticles. Unfortunately I cannot use the almond hand and nail cream in Winter as my hands tends to become dry. During Winter I use the Hemp Hand Protector. The Body Shop hand cream retails for R130.
I use this cactus brush every day with a bath glove or the refining bath lily. If using a bath glove, cactus brush or bath lily is part of your daily cleansing ritual, you’ll often find that you only have to exfoliate once a week. These body products exfoliate your body daily (gently and naturally). I especially love the cactus brush as it cleans my whole back. When in the shower or bath, pour shower gel onto the brush and brush your skin using circular motions. After showering, your skin feels smooth and soft. The brush retails for R190.
I love the hemp foot protector and use it every day, sometimes twice a day. The foot protector helps to keep your skin soft. Like my sister always says, you feet cannot look like gingerbread biscuits. If you have cracked/very dry skin, it is one of the best products to use for your feet. Of course, the foot protector is not enough. I would highly recommend using a foot file, my preference is an electronic foot file. But The Body Shop does have the spoon foot file and normal foot file to use with the foot protector. This foot protector retails for R130 and is one of my best all-time products from The Body Shop.
I look forward to Christmas because I get to purchase my favourite seasonal products, namely the Frosted Berry range. This range smells divine! It has a refreshing, fruity and sweet scent but it’s not overpowering. You may pick of notes of vanilla and berries. The scrub can be used 2-3 times a week, but like I mentioned earlier, I only need to use it once a week because I am using a body brush and glove. It removes all old and dead skin cells and leaves your skin smooth and soft. The frosted berries body scrub is currently on sale for R120.
I love the subtle scents of green tea and lemon lingering in my room. The sticks leaves a fresh scent (not the fake ones that smell horrible) in any room, helps to relax the senses and restore harmony. The holder is made of recycled glass and can last up to 8 weeks. The Body Shop green tea & lemon reed diffuser retails for R275.
This was one of the first products I used from The Body Shop and after all these years, its still a favourite. It has a beautiful grapeseed scent and helps to add a natural shine to your hair. If your hair tends to become oily (like mine), do not apply the serum directly onto your roots. After I’ve styled my hair, I apply it about a 1cm from my roots, especially around the areas that are more prone to dryness. You can also use the serum on wet hair before styling it. You can purchase the serum for R130, mine last for about 6-8 months.
100% Vegan masks which is such a treat for tired and stressed skin. This energising radiance masks gives your skin a beautiful glow as it is rich in antioxidants, iron and amino acids. I love how bright and fresh my skin appears after using the mask. This is such a luxurious mask to use at home and retails for R300.
I have mentioned previously that I love the Christmas range from The Body Shop. The Frosted Berries shower gel is such a treat, I use it daily. There is something about the fruity scent that makes me want to dance in the shower, it helps to energize me. I always recommend using a body scrub in addition to the shower gel. The shower gel works best on my skin if those dead skin cells are removed. Currently the 250ml is on sale for R55.
Another treat from The Body Shop’s seasonal range, the Spiced Apple body butter. After exfoliating your skin, you need to put back in the moisture. All the body butters from The Body Shop are divine, but I particularly love the scent of the Spiced Apple. It gives me skin a subtle glow and keeps me hydrated the whole day. Always apply your body butter immediately after you’ve come out the shower/bath. The Spiced Apple body butter is on sale for R100.
