Earth Fair Market Tokai
This weekend, I visited the Earth Fair market in Tokai and what a great experience it was. The market is small and intimate, but it doesn’t lack anything. The aim of the Earth Fair indoor market is too provide top quality stalls with fresh local (organic) produce. You can stock up on your groceries (diary products, fruit, vegetables, meat, fish and bread) for the week or spoil yourself with a delicious meal. The market is situated in the Builders Warehouse centre.
We walked around the market and I immediately wanted a bun-less falafel vegetable burger from The Sunshine Food Co.
This organic burger is HUGE and delicious. It is stacked with flavour. For R60 you get the following:
- Salad sprouts
- Alfalfa sprouts
- Sunflower micro – greens
- Lentil Dhal
- Cauliflower couscous
- Falafel vegetable patti
- Avocado (guacamole)
- Red cabbage
- Macadamia nut sauce
Thereafter, Mr and I shared pancakes with Creme Fraiche and strawberries. The only words I can use to describe these pancakes is pure perfection with a cup of coffee of course.
The Earth Fair Market is suitable for families and they have a safe play area for kids. What I liked most about the market was the people. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. You can sit at any table and people immediately start a conversation. I also like the fact that the market is busy but its not overbearing. Their trading hours are Saturday from 9h00 – 14h00 and Wednesdays from 15h00 – 20h00.
