Fit and Flare Dress

Fit and Flare Dress

Hello lovelies! I love purchasing dresses but often struggle to find a dress that suits my body type. Either the proportions are out of balance or certain parts of the dress are tighter around my hip area. When I find a dress that fits perfectly, I instantly become obsessed. Just like I did with this fit and flare dress. Earlier in the year, I purchased this beautiful polka dot fit and flare dress from love the playfulness of this dress and how it suits my curvy body type.

Fit and Flare Dress

I particularly love this fit and flare dress because it’s perfect for women with curves. The fit and flare dress is flattering because it mimics the hourglass shape. It draws attention to the smallest part of your body, your waist, or creates the illusion/appearance of a small waist. You may notice how the fit and flare dress softens wider hips/thighs. The polka dot fit and flare dress is ideal for women with curves. However, if you have an athletic, slim, curvy or petite body type the fit and flare dress will automatically give you a more proportionate shape. It can work on every body type, depending on the shoes and accessories you wear with it. Speaking of shoes, for the shoot, I chose to wear sandals for a more classic look. If I am going out for drinks, or meeting a client, I will wear heels/boots with the dress. For the weekend, I prefer a laid back look and usually wear it with sneakers and a fedora hat. It’s a wardrobe staple as it can be worn to the office, over weekends or a night out.

Tammy and I shot this look in The Raptor Room (which happens to have the best sweet potato fries). I purchased this dress from in March, which was ideal for Spring. However, you can still rock the look in Winter. Add some stockings, ankle boots, a leather jacket and you’re good to go.
