Table Mountain is a flat-topped mountain forming a prominent landmark overlooking the city of Cape Town in South Africa, and is featured in the Flag of Cape Town and other local government insignia. It is a significant tourist attraction, with many visitors using the cableway or hiking to the top. The mountain forms part of the Table Mountain National Park.
Last week Friday, my family and I went up Table Mountain. It was 32 degrees, the weather was perfect, and the view was out of this world. When we arrived at the top (1085 metres above sea level), there were a few clouds surrounding the mountain. What a beautiful sight. We walked around the mountain and explored the beautiful sights, not to mention the breath-taking views.
Table Mountain runs a special during Summer, R112.50 for the Sunset Special (starting at 6pm). Make sure you are there from 5:30 (the queue is very long). You can take a picnic basket up with you and enjoy a spectacular sunset with your family/partner/friends.
The cable car rotates, ensuring that everyone gets a good view. I have to admit, the cable car was not my favourite part of the journey but when I got to the top, it was all worth it.
I feel like more South Africans need to explore our country. There are so many Capetonians who has never visited Table Mountain. Just a friendly reminder, you can go on the cable car for free on your birthday. Make sure you have your ID with you. Take some time to admire beauty that surrounds us. Explore your city and country. We are blessed to be surrounded with beaches, mountains and the most beautiful landscapes.
Man, I love this city!
