Tuning the Vine

Forget wine tasting and try a little “wine tuning” as Tuning the Vine’s monthly #InnerCityWineRoute pours onto the streets of Cape Town’s CBD on Wednesday 9 March from 5.30pm to 9pm.

Dive into a wine event like no other, as experienced winos and curios newbies alike look to experience an epic mid-week taste adventure with some of the Western Cape’s best producers across the hippest venues including 91 Loop Boutique  Hostel, House of Machines, Signal Hill Winery, HQ, Weinhaus & Biergarten, Charango, Bocca, The Gin Bar, Jasons, The Odyssey, Palma, Culture Club, Bacon on Bree, Door 221, Orphanage Cocktail Emporium and O’Jangles Gastro Pub.

Collaborations of gastronomical bliss – these #InnerCityWineRoute venues will offer delicious treats for tuners; think pies, farm charcuterie, cheese boards, burgers, mini margaritas, sausage fests (the good kind), Peruvian tacos, tapas and street food goodness all for sale on the night.

Red, white, rosé, blended, beer, cider or bubbly, these #InnerCityWineRoute offerings are set to wow: Cavalli, Fairview, Thelema, Rosendal, Buitenverwachting, Diemersdal and Tokara (to name a few).

Erase everything that you’ve come to expect of a typical wine event and immerse yourself in the extraordinary diversity of this transformative #InnerCityWineRoute experience – find familiar favourites, demystify wine, learn to pronounce the tongue twisters and walk the streets wine glass in hand. Follow the fairies, use your schnoz, tune your taste buds and find your flavour as you join the fun.

Tuners can win 1 of 5 mixed cases of 12 #InnerCityWineRoute wines – simply photograph yourself at the event, with your favourite producer’s bottle and Tuning the Vine glass, upload it to Instagram or Twitter using #mybestwine #InnerCityWineRoute and you could win.

Early Birds are sold out and tickets are limited so secure your spot online now for R150 via Quicket. You can collect your wrist bands and glasses at one of the two ticketing stations on the night. The stations for February are 91 Loop Boutique Hostel and Orphanage Cocktail Emporium in Bree. Please note, tickets purchased at the event will cost R170.

Add some magic to your #InnerCityWineRoute with a Sommelier tour. Starting at 6pm and 7pm from 91 on Loop, these 60-minute tours cost an additonal R100 per person (maximum 8 people). Whether you’re an experienced wino or a curious newbie looking to demystify wine; these tours will help anyone dive deeper into the magical wonders of wine.

 The next two events will take place on Wednesdays 13 April, 11 May and 8 June.
